If you’re thinking about buying a trailer from Rugged Aluminum Trailers, we want to help make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible. Whether you’re a first-time trailer buyer or an experienced pro, we’re here to answer your questions and guide you through every step of the process.

The first step in buying a trailer from us is to submit your 25% deposit to get the order going. This helps us to secure your spot on the shop floor and begin production on your custom trailer. Typical lead times from deposit to delivery are 2-4 weeks.

Once your trailer is complete and ready for delivery, one of our logistics coordinators will reach out to discuss the final payment and arrange delivery or pickup with you. We understand that your time is valuable, so we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule and make the delivery process as convenient as possible. To make things even easier, we’ll drop off the certificate of origin and bill of sale right at your doorstep along with the trailer.

Now, let’s talk about the registration and titling process. The certificate of origin and bill of sale are essential documents that provide proof of ownership and will be required by your local DMV when you go to register and title your trailer. To begin the process, take these documents to your local DMV along with any other required documentation, such as proof of insurance and identification. Depending on your state’s requirements, you may also need to pay a fee to obtain your trailer’s registration and title.

Once you have all the necessary documentation and fees, the DMV will process your application and issue a trailer license plate and registration. The license plate will need to be attached to the trailer in the designated position, and the registration documents should be kept in your vehicle at all times.

It’s important to note that the titling process can vary slightly from state to state. Be sure to check with your local DMV to determine the specific requirements and procedures for obtaining a trailer license plate and registration in your area.

At Rugged Aluminum Trailers, we’re committed to making the trailer buying process as seamless as possible. If you have any questions or concerns along the way, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help every step of the way.
