Dealer inventory can be faster when a trailer on the lot already fits. Rugged lets you choose the configuration, see current price and delivery online, and approve the final written order before production. Rugged is both builder and seller, so sales and support stay with one company.

Can I customize my trailer beyond the options on your website?

Choose from the sizes, rails, ramps, cargo-control systems, interiors, power packages, and accessories published in Build & Price. We generally do not offer one-off structural dimensions. Contact Rugged about high-volume or fleet requirements.

What are Rugged trailers made of?

The load-bearing structure is an all-aluminum structural frame, which is corrosion-resistant — not corrosion-proof. Some components aren't aluminum: the axle, coupler, brakes, and some decking are specified per build. The exact materials for your configuration are confirmed at build time.

No — aluminum is corrosion-resistant, not corrosion-proof. The structural frame resists the rust and corrosion that wear down steel frames, but routine care is still recommended, and non-aluminum parts (axle, coupler, brakes, and some decking) are specified per build.

Nothing enters production until you explicitly approve the final written Build Order. The remaining 75% is due before pickup or delivery.

Yes. The order deposit remains refundable until you approve the final written Build Order. If the approved 25% target is lower, Rugged refunds the excess to the original payment method.

No. The order deposit starts Rugged’s shop review. Manufacturing begins only after you explicitly approve the final written Build Order.

What does the warranty cover, and for how long?

The aluminum structure — main frame rails, crossmembers, tongue, structural welds, and the welded deck frame — is covered for five years from the retail purchase date against defects in materials and workmanship. Business, rental, and fleet use is covered for one year. Our installation of non-structural components is covered for one year. Axles, brakes, tires, wheels, jacks, couplers, and lighting carry their own manufacturers' warranties. The full Limited Warranty is published on our warranty page, including what is excluded.

Do I have to register the warranty?

Something is wrong with my trailer. What happens?

Email warranty@ruggedat.com or call 603.324.7402 with the VIN, photographs, and a description. Get written authorization before repair. Rugged may repair or replace the part or supply parts to an approved facility. Transportation costs are the owner's responsibility; transit damage follows the delivery-claim process.

Your trailer arrives with a Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin (MCO) and a paid bill of sale — the documents commonly needed for registration. Take them to your state's DMV / Registry of Motor Vehicles, which will process the registration, issue plates if required, and collect any applicable fees.

How do I keep my aluminum trailer looking its best?

Aluminum is a low-maintenance material, and its strength isn't affected by natural oxidation. If you want to address any cloudiness and restore shine, lightly scrub the affected areas with a green Scotch-Brite pad. Harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners are unnecessary and could damage the finish.

How do I best secure my trailer when it's not in use?

For effective security, use a coupler lock to help prevent your trailer from being towed away. Our trailers use a Demco coupler, so a compatible Demco lock offers a secure fit. For an added layer, a wheel lock helps deter quick movement. When possible, store your trailer in a secure, well-lit area.
