The Ranger is the machine we get asked about most, and the answer depends entirely on which Ranger. A two-seat SP 570 and a Crew XP 1000 are four feet apart in length — one fits on almost anything we build, the other disqualifies half the lineup.
The machines (manufacturer specs)
| Model | Length | Width | Dry weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2026 Ranger SP 570 | 108 in | 56 in | 1,168 lb |
| 2026 Ranger XP 1000 Premium — Sunset Red | 120 in | 62.5 in | 1,693 lb |
| 2026 Ranger Crew XP 1000 Premium — Stealth Gray | 152 in | 62.5 in | 2,018 lb |
What fits — with the margin shown
| Rugged model | Deck | Payload | SP 570 | XP 1000 | Crew |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6.5 x 12 Tandem Axle Trailer | 6.5' x 12' | 5,977 lb | Fits, ~36 in spare | Fits, ~24 in spare | NO — deck too short |
| 6.5 x 14 Tandem Axle Trailer | 6.5' x 14' | 5,911 lb | Fits easily | Fits, ~48 in spare | Tight — ~16 in spare |
| 6.5 x 16 Tandem Axle Trailer | 6.5' x 16' | 5,870 lb | Fits easily | Fits easily | Fits, ~40 in spare |
Payload is never the constraint here — even the 2026 Ranger Crew XP 1000 Premium at 2,018 lb estimated dry weight leaves thousands of pounds of margin on any tandem-axle model. Length is the constraint. The honest calls: the 6.5x12 cannot take a Crew, full stop. The 6.5x14 technically fits one, but sixteen inches of spare deck disappears the moment you add a front bumper or want gear on board — if you own a Crew, buy the 16-footer and stop thinking about it.
Width and tie-downs
All Rangers are narrower than 65 inches, so every 6.5-foot-wide Rugged deck takes them with room for a walk-around on at least one side. Tie down at four points: front tow hooks or frame crossed to the front corners, rear hitch or frame crossed to the rear corners. Set the parking brake, leave the machine in gear, and put the winch (if any) under slight tension. D-rings handle it; L-track earns its price if you swap machines often.
- Do I need a ramp or a tilt deck for a Ranger?
- Either works. A bi-fold ramp is the popular choice on utility models; a tilt deck skips ramp setup entirely and is worth considering if you load daily. Compare them in the ramp guide.
- Will the Ranger fit between the rails with a plow mount?
- Width-wise yes — plow mounts add length, not width. Add the mount length to the figures above.
