Two sleds side by side is a width problem first and a length problem second. Here is the math New England riders actually need.
The width math
The named 2026 examples used here are close: the Polaris 650 INDY VR1 137 has a 42.5-inch ski-center distance and 47-inch overall width, while the Ski-Doo MXZ X-RS 137 has an adjustable 43-inch ski stance and 47.8-inch overall width. Two of either need roughly 94–96 inches of usable width to sit straight — more than any 6.5-foot (78 in) deck provides. The honest answer: on our decks, two sleds load STAGGERED (one nosed forward-left, one back-right) or angled, not perfectly parallel. Riders do this every weekend and it works — but if you want dead-straight side-by-side loading, you need a dedicated 8.5-foot sled deck, which we do not currently build.

Payload is a non-issue — two sleds and gear rarely clear 1,300 lb against several thousand pounds of margin. Aluminum matters most in this use case for a different reason: salted-highway miles are exactly the environment that kills steel trailers. See winter care.
